Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter for frying
- 1 egg
- 1 dl pickled beetroot, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp capers
- 1 dl pickle, finely chopped
- 1 dl milk
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for frying the steaks
For serving:
- Boiled potatoes
- Fried egg (optional)
- Pickled beetroot and pickle as a side dish
Instructions:
-
Prepare the vegetables : Finely chop the beetroot, capers and gherkins. Chop the onion and fry it lightly in butter until it becomes soft and golden brown. Let cool.
-
Mix the ingredients : In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with the fried onions, chopped beets, capers, pickles, eggs, milk, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Work the ingredients together into a smooth mince.
-
Shape the steaks : Divide the mince into 4 equal parts and shape them into flat steaks.
-
Fry the steaks : Heat butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they have a nice golden brown color and are cooked through.
-
Serving : Serve the steaks with boiled potatoes and possibly a fried egg. A classic side dish is also extra pickled beetroot and pickled cucumber on the side.
Tasty meal!
